I have been owning a Stratos since May 2005, fitted with an aluminium A-frame and a fix tail from AIR. It has all the good features of rigid wings (light controls, safe at take off, easy landing with the air brakes on, not too sensitive in bumpy air). Its performance is mind-blowing, and after having flown an Exxtacy which was very stable in roll, I find the Stratos to provide me with a feel for the air that is similar to a flexwing. To start with, there seems to be too much inertia in turns, but once you have got the knack of it, it becomes very easy and light to handle. Awesome in thermals and transitions.

eh oui, innertie à la mise en virage, pas un problème?? attention au décollage falaise, l'innertie ne pardonne pas et mon beau stratos s'est retrouvé en miettes. d'accord j'y ai mis du mien, mais ce petit moment d'innertie peut être un tantinet gènant. notez que si le stratos est la copie exacte de l'atos, les volets, eux, sont bien plus souples.

The Stratos is the same wing as the Atos V or C, but built by Icaro (who actually made the sails for AIR…).
The Atos manual is relevant.
