A must for beginners. Unbeatable light handling due to its floating crossbar. very forgiving. very tight turning circles and easy to land in small fields. Although it can be flown in almost any kind of weather, attention should be paid to the fact that you won't move ahead much against strong headwind and it also gets bumpy in thermals. when pulling the bar, you move down, not forward.
The finish is ok, but with minimalistic rigging. beware of the crossbar tensionnig wire that wears out very quickly. Also, be careful that the crossbar doesn't pop out in your face while derigging, a frequent cause of accident with this wing.

My 3rd glider. Very quick set-up, increadibly light handling, great in thermals. In its time, Vol Libre wrote it was the only single surface glider that could make it arguable to buy a double surface wing. About 15 years ago, a friend flew St Andre to Dormillouse and back with it. Still a must for real beginners.

At the end of my schooling on Spirales, Atlas, already 20 years ago, i bought a MEDIUM 17 i flew a little bit everywheresince then with more or less happines (Grasse, Sederon, Millau, Salins les Bains, where i got my license in 1990 before i tried paragliding and also towing at la Belle Idée) I don't have a lot of reference but i think this wing was very sane. Unlike double surfaces, it was quick and easy to set up. Even tho it didn't climb so good in big thermals, i often satisfied myself with this wing's ability to fly slow without stalling to get up. And it worked very good. I adventured this forum with a bit of nostalgy. Of course hang gliding is getting a bit in the shadow of paragliding. What a pity!
If i have a reserve it's not about the wing but about my weight that led me to make very long landings with too quick approaches. Using this wing to get back in the course on school must be absolutely avoidded. It flies too much. Circumstances led me to stop free flying, but i was ready to switch my "Medium" for a "Nuage" -same house but double surface and overdrive- with full confidence.

My favorite hangglider of all time with the Seedwing Sensor. I had the chance to fly lots of different HG, the Tecma Medium has been the most fun and safest HG of em all. It’s handling at super low speed is amazing, you can turn while stall, easy turn reversal, good sink rate, nice to land, light on the control... if I can ever find a low time one again, i’ll jump on it :-)
