Ok, so I checked with Aeros. The only differences between the "regular" Discus and the Combat version are profiled downtubes, speedbar and a laminated upper sail. Wing-profile is the same

The profile of the upper sail battens decides a lot of the characteristic of the glider. As far as I know the Discus C has a different profile and trim than the regular, more performance but probably a bit stiffer and more challenging in landing. Dacron or Technora depends on choice, but most people who want a C might want Technora too.

I remember the Mystic only as a copy of the Airwave Magic, with an airframe re-designed by Mark West to conform to HGMA certification standards. My impression from talking with pilots was that it flew well, but not as well as the UK or US versions of the Airwave Magic, particularly in handling.

Deltaplane : New Wave

The New Wave was launched by Firebird at the end of 1988. It was supposed to be Firebird's answer to the Sensor, Kiss, HP and the rest of the high performance gliders at this time.
It is an edge bow glider with VG, which had 16 sqm in the first version, and was slightly facelifted a few months later to 15sqm.
In keeping with the spirit of the times, the device was primarily designed for performance, which was then, however, rather average compared to the competitors.
The handling is quite tough and indifferent, and the VG doesn't change that much.
The New Wave, with its relatively large aspect ratio, is still beautiful to look at today, but due to its handling it is not suitable for beginners.
