Company statement from 1979.
The Laser is designed for the intermediate to advanced pilot and is suitable for competition, cross country thermaling or just plain ridge soaring.
The machine has taken over a year to develop and this extensive work has produced an intermediate glider with good sink rate and glide angle, so that when the winds freshen its excellent penetration will be appreciated.
The Laser slices through turbulence with its cambered fully floating battened sail. Having no deflexers and a strong easy to rig airframe it allows the maximum time possible in the air.

This would appear to be lunacy. The procedure for recovery from a spin in a standard a/c is: Stick fully forward,full opposite rudder. To tackle such a manoeuvre, he should have started at 3000' and be ready with his parachute.

English I owned the greatest S5 ever built, in the 1970’s. Total of 118 flights before I foolishly traded it for a Seahawk. Seahawk was grand, but I should have kept my floater 5 for those spectacular light lift days when everyone else sank out while I climbed out!

English The Comet was hands down the best thermalling glider I've ever flown. You could lock into a thermal and practically eat your lunch. Of course the pitch was a bitch with lots of bar pressure trying to go fast. I flew it a few times with the speed rail, but zero bar pressure at high speeds scared the crap out of me...

English I currently fly with one of these and have zero complaints. It's minimalistic and tucks the bag between the legs along the back. I don't know what some of the loops in the front are for.

Français J'ai eu une Gold II. Le taux de chute était bon, mais la pénétration très moyenne. Un peu camion. Probablement un peu trop de surface.
Sinon je me suis régalé pendant 2ans avant de passé sur un alpha.

English Bill summarised it so well. I made the sails and had several. The handling was just wonderful, just move your legs a little. My fondest memories are those with my Emu. 1979-1980 I managed 55km near Grenoble in France and landed at a refuge called Tubanet (I think that is the place) Thanks for coming to rescue me Bill. My fond best wishes to all of us that were involved. .
