20/10/2003 | I just purchased a used XTR 145. The glider came with all of the factory padding, and it shows in the condition of this 10 year old glider- it is in excellant condition!
I have flown this wing twice now, and on both occasions I skyed out despite challenging conditions. This wing flies very slow and also flies very fast. It lands as easily as the Falcon that I was flying previous to this wing. The sink rate in still air is about 225 ft/min and I am definitely on the high end of the weight spectrum for this glider, if not a little overweight. The launch is very easy, even at the 6000 ft site I flew it at this weekend. I am very satisfied with the performance of this wing, and I am mystified it was not more sucessful saleswise.

12/05/2004 | Well here is further data on this wing: I have made a modification and added winglets to the glider. It flies faster and lands slower. The idea of adding winglets was to reduce the tendency to "dutch roll" at the higher end of the speed envelope.
The winglets have reduced or eliminated this problem, and allow the glider to be flown with VG full on at all times except for landing. An awesome wing now.
