Fine, predictable glider, Superb hardware (Moyes)

I was able to static tow the Xtralite after less than 15 hours of total airtime on begginer gliders. Although the tips would wander (yaw) on tow it was easy to get use to and deal with. Very solid feeling glider in flight, Flair window was very pronounced.

The Moyes "Extra-Heavy".
Not exactly known for its "light weight", the extralite is however known as a fine wing. Aside from it's weight, it is a no-surprises glider. It does what you expect, when you expect it. Also known as "a pleasure to fly".

(extra comments)
Aerotowing (initial) may pose some difficulty. The glider has a pronounced yawing tendency. Static winchtowing is like intermediate.

I have owned a XLT164 for 7 years and have flow all over the Alps, on aerotow regularly @ 40mph according to our tug pilot and winched hundreds of times, very predictable & stable glider that fly's well, requires a small amount of VB for Aerotow or will yaw above 45mph, the only down side can be a bit slow in turns.
But all in all a very well made and predictable glider with no vices
