May be the glider with the lightest handling ever made. It handles like a bicycle! Negative points: abysmal sink rate at speed and tail heavy balance that can feel cumbersome at take off (but often useful for landing!)

The Super Scorpion had a further development to what I think was called the Super Scorpion II. Visually the difference was the II had completely straight uprights. The earlier version I own has curves on each upright at the very top so that they end up parrallel to each other where connected. This glider is very sweet to fly having very pleasant handling qualities. Its only real drawback was a lack of penitration compared to some other gliders. My Super Scorpion "C" has 7 battens in each wing

7 vols sur cette aile, essentiellement en bord de mer, et au Menez Hom en Bretagne ! En soaring aile très facile et très amusante ! Une vraie "bicyclette" !

I think that this wing dates from 1979.
It existed in 3 sizes: A, B and C.
I owned a Super Scorpion C.
This wing was top rated for it's manuverability and sink rate at its time. A very easy and safe wing, even withou lufflines.
The downside was a lack of speed: over 40 km/h, it sank like a rock.

ça a été l'aile de mes débuts en ... 1992 !
On a bien volé avec, car on avait pas d'elements de comparaison.
Maniable à l'excès, voir instable, et ce qui pouvait être dangereux, tendance à dérapper grave si on tournait avec trop peu de vitesse.

Le Super Scorpion Hiway existait déjà en 78. Je me souviens qu'il y en avait un disponible lors du stage "XC-Clinic" de Mike de Glanville au Lachens. Ce stage était une caverne d'Ali-Baba, car les autres ailes disponibles (à volonté) étaient un Jet La Mouette alors sans lattes d'intrados, un Gryphon III Wasp sans mât, un Fledge II à gouvernes, un ASG21. Il suffisait de demander...

I was one of the many badly paid test pilots for Hiway. This glider was an improvement on the Scorpion. The "C "was the best version. Best glider and best seller in its day.
