I fly the Impuls IC. It is a double sail hangglider still in production.
DHV rating is 2, as it is intermidiate wing good for beginners and weekend flyers.
It flies fine, it is easy to take off and has a very wide flare window at landing. Although it has a very low landing speed, it still has a good penetration. Maximum speed is designated at 90 km/h.
Its low sink rate and good L\D ratio keeps it on the top most of the days. I have flown it in weak conditions as well as at some very windy days with a lot of gusts and turbulence. At all times it gave me no truble, although I started to fly it after having only two hour of airtime on a beginner's hangglider (Lancer by Pacific Kites).
Nevertheless, it has its drawbacks. It is turn-heavy and has a lots of bar pressure on pitch down, you'd better excersise those upper body muscles. All in all, mine is here to stay, I shall never sell it.
Nice wing, perfect engineering, German quality. We just bought a second-hand one for the club. It is 25 yo now but looks like 10 (thank for the previous owner and the good materials). It is suitable for the rookies right after the single surface gliders. Stable, predictable, good for hill launch and winch towing, too. Sidewires are tight on the ground, easy to balance.
Very large pilot weight rang, one suits for all pilots, even for the hevier ones. I can confirm that it prefers to fly straight, need some more patience to get it into turns. It is rather slow than fast, so not the best option for UL-towing.
